Second Baruch

You, however, Baruch, prepare your heart for what has been said to you,

and understand what has been shown to you,

because you have many eternal consolations.

For you shall depart from this place,

and you shall pass from the regions that are now seen by you,

and you shall forget

what is corruptible,

and you shall no longer remember what is among mortals.

Go therefore and instruct your people, and come to this place,

and afterward fast for seven days,

and then I will come to you and speak with you.
