What it is

A conversation between a soul and God the Father, built on the image of Christ as a bridge over the flood, and unsparing about corrupt clergy.

Why it lasted

Dictated, largely in ecstasy, by a woman who never learned to write properly, and one of the founding texts of Italian prose.
