What it is
Twelve hundred pages and four hundred drawings by an Andean nobleman, addressed to the king of Spain, documenting Inca history and the abuses of colonial rule.
Why it lasted
The longest sustained indigenous critique of colonialism from the period, lost in a Danish library until 1908.
