What it is
God rehearses everything he did for Israel in the wilderness and declares that the house is now to be given to a people coming from the east, closing with Ezra on Mount Zion watching a great multitude receive crowns from the Son of God.
Why it lasted
A Christian supersessionist tract that travelled attached to a Jewish book, printed for centuries as the first two chapters of 2 Esdras — the two halves of the argument bound together in one volume.
