What it is
An allegorical reading of the desert tabernacle in which every measurement, curtain, and vessel figures the church and the Christian life.
Why it lasted
Bede's most sustained allegorical work, and the reason the Codex Amiatinus and Northumbrian art depict the tabernacle as they do.
