What it is
The Bible in nine languages in parallel columns — Hebrew, Samaritan, Aramaic, Greek, Latin, Syriac, Arabic, Ethiopic, Persian — with a critical apparatus of variants.
Why it lasted
The greatest work of biblical scholarship of the century, and its list of variant readings began the modern discipline of textual criticism.
