What it is
A missionary sermon in Peter's name, preserved in a handful of quotations by Clement of Alexandria. It sets Christians apart as a third people who worship neither as the Greeks, who serve wood and stone, nor as the Jews, who serve angels and months and moons.
Why it lasted
The earliest attempt to define Christianity against both of the religions it came from at once — the argument every later apologist would rebuild.
