What it is

A systematic set of contradictions between the Old Testament and the gospel, arguing that the creator God of Israel is a lesser being than the alien God of love revealed by Jesus. Known only from the refutations of Tertullian and others.

Why it lasted

Marcion's canon of one gospel and ten letters forced the wider church to say which books were actually scripture — the single greatest provocation behind the New Testament canon.

Where to read it

Public domain and free to read in full, though not held here. The archives below have it.

These open a search on each archive rather than a direct link, which is the honest way to point at an edition nobody here has checked line by line.
